Pikelets then Poppies

We had a real making day today.
We made pikelets for morning tea and then after that we made some poppies to wear to the ANZAC service at 2.30.
Here is a collage of some of us stirring, and all of us eating.

Here is the recipe.

Here are the poppies we made.

April 13

Welcome to Vayden, we are glad that you are here.
On Friday at Assembly we sang an alphabet song with Casey leading us, showing us the sign language for each one. Well done Casey, thanks for teaching us.
We made a brochure called 'The Best Lunch Box Ever'. This went home with all the children on Friday. Have a look at what we decided made a healthy lunch box.
This is the last week of term and we sadly farewell seven children. They are off to Room 6. So we say goodbye to: Max, Rhyce, Casey, Chloe, Jake, Imogen and Maddy. I am really sad to see you go but with the numbers growing in Room 5 we need to make room for new students. We have a number of new people next term.
I just found this cool iPad app. It is called Puppet Work Shop. I just made these puppets and saved the picture to my photos.

5 April

We welcomed Saskia this week.
We have been working hard on our writing and everyone has a new goal to work towards. It is exciting to see the progress the children are making, some are working towards writing two or three sentences.
It is lovely to see some of the children bringing some writing that they have done at home.

Here is a photo of a few of us at Book Box time.
